TODAY'S GAME: Finale of a four-game series against the Bradenton Marauders at LECOM Park (1-2)...Finale of an eight-game road trip against the Clearwater Threshers and Marauders (2-5)...First of three series (12 games) between the two clubs in 2018, with the only four games at LECOM Park coming this week...Florida finished 4-4 against Bradenton in 2017, including 1-3 on the road.
TODAY'S STARTING PITCHER: 20-year-old Ian Anderson makes his 11th start of 2018 in the road-trip finale on Thursday night at LECOM Park...The 6'3" hurler came into the campaign as the Atlanta Braves fifth-ranked prospect in both Baseball America and MLB.com, and is the 42nd- (Baseball America) and 51st- (MLB.com) overall rated prospect in baseball...The native of Rexford, N.Y. suffered his third loss of the year with one run allowed on three hits, two walks and three strikeouts against the Clearwater Threshers on June 2...The right-hander tossed just 55 pitches, with 31 going for strikes in his shortest outing of the season...Thursday will be Anderson's first career start against the Marauders.
FIRE FROGS COMPLETE COMEBACK OVER MARAUDERS: The Florida Fire Frogs trailed 2-0 going into the seventh inning on Wednesday night, but struck for three late runs in the 3-2 victory over the Bradenton Marauders at LECOM Park.
Tucker Davidson allowed runs in the fourth and fifth innings, but kept his club in the game with five strong innings on the bump. The southpaw gave up six hits, but walked just one and struck out two. Troy Bacon and Thomas Burrows tossed the final four frames, and combined to allow just two hits and struck out six.
Ray-Patrick Didder homered against Jess Amedee to get the Fire Frogs on the boad in the seventh, and Shean Michel doubled home Jordan Rodgers from first to tie the game at two apiece. Michel struck again in the ninth with the game-winning single to push across pinch runner Marcus Mooney.
RISING TO THE OCCASION: Shean Michel came into Wednesday night's game 0-for-his-last-6, and started the night 0-for-2 before smacking an RBI double in the seventh to tie the game...The Curacao native's ninth-inning single was the only hit with runners in scoring position for Florida (1-for-9)...The 20-year-old already has three RBI in June, after having just two through the first two months of the season (nine games).
BULLPEN BOUNCES BACK: Troy Bacon tossed two scoreless frames, and allowed just one hit while picking up two strikeouts along the way...The Tampa native was coming off an outing against the Clearwater Threshers on June 2 in which the right-hander allowed three runs in 1.1 innings...Thomas Burrows tossed the final two frames in his third win of the season...The product of Alabama punched out four, and gave up just one hit out of the bullpen...The southpaw allowed two inherited runners to score his last appearance on June 3.
ALL-STAR SELECTIONS: The Florida State League announced its rosters for the North and South squads on June 1, and three Fire Frogs will represent the Atlanta Braves' High-A affiliate in Tampa on on June 16...Chad Sobotka, Cristian Pache and were selected divisional coaches, GMs, official scorers and broadcasters...Sobotka has since been replaced by right-handed pitcher Sixto Sanchez of the Clearwater Threshers.
