TODAY'S GAME: Rubber match of a three-game series to wrap up the first half against the Jupiter Hammerheads at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium (1-1)...Game three of a seven-game trip against Jupiter and the Daytona Tortugas...Florida is coming off of a 4-3 homestand against Jupiter and the Bradenton Marauders heading into the All-Star break...Second of four series (11 games) between the two clubs in 2018, and third of five contests in Jupiter...The Fire Frogs took a three-game series (2-1) at Osceola County Stadium from June 9-10...Florida finished 7-10 against Jupiter in 2017, including 5-6 on the road...The Atlanta Braves' affiliate holds a 11-12 all-time record at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
TODAY'S STARTING PITCHER: 20-year-old Ian Anderson makes his 13th start of 2018 in the rubber match against the Jupiter Hammerheads at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium on Wednesday night...The 6'3" hurler came into the campaign as the Atlanta Braves fifth-ranked prospect in both Baseball America and MLB.com, and is the 42nd- (Baseball America) and 51st- (MLB.com) overall rated prospect in baseball...The native of Rexford, N.Y. did not factor into the decision of a 3-2 loss to the Bradenton Marauders on June 12...The right-hander lasted just two frames, allowing a run on four hits, three walks and two strikeouts on 60 pitches (34 strikes)...Wednesday will be Anderson's first career start against the Hammerheads.
DAVIDSON STAYS HOT IN LOSS TO HAMMERHEADS: Braxton Davidson continued to swing a hot bat in Tuesday night's 5-2 loss to the Jupiter Hammerheads at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. The 22-year-old connected on a two-run shot in the sixth inning for his seventh blast in June to go along with 19 RBI.
The blast knotted the matchup at two apiece for the Florida Fire Frogs, but Jupiter was able to counter in the bottom half of the frame against the combination of Tucker Davidson and Connor Johnstone .
BRAXTON'S BOMBS: Braxton Davidson's sixth-inning bomb was the left-hander's seventh in June, extending his career-mark for total in a month...The 22-year-old's previous high was five back in July of 2016 while with the Carolina Mudcats...Davidson's 19 RBI this month is three shy of tying a career-high, which was also set in July 0f 2016...The North Carolina native is responsible for 41 percent of Florida's total homerun output during the third month of the season (17)...Only Ibandel Isabel (DBT) has more long balls this month (10) than Davidson...Braxton has more round trippers in June than the St. Lucie Mets (6), and has as many as Jupiter.
PACHE'S PACE: Cristian Pache extended his hitting streak to six games with a 1-for-4 performance on Tuesday night...The 19-year-old is currently batting .364 during the stretch...The native of the Domincan Republic leads the team with four streaks of at least five games, and has hit .360 (45-for-125) during those streaks.
