JUPITER, Fla. - The Florida Fire Frogs had no answers against Jordan Yamamoto and the Jupiter Hammerheads on Wednesday night, dropping the rubber match to end the first half, 2-0 at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.

Yamamoto (3-0) set a career-high, and new team record with 13 strikeouts through seven shutout innings in the series-deciding game. The 22-year-old worked a perfect game through 4.2 innings, before Garrison Schwartz (2x3) broke up the bid with a single to center.

The opposing right-hander needed just 89 pitches to pick up his third victory of 2018, with 64 going for strikes.

Ian Anderson (1-4) dueled Yamamoto into the fifth inning, but allowed a run on an Anfernee Seymour single to center, plating Aaron Knapp to push Florida (29-37) behind by a run.

Jupiter (41-29) brought home an insurance run in the sixth with a sacrifice fly to center off the bat of James Nelson, scoring John Silviano.

Anderson worked his third quality start of the season in the losing effort. The 20-year-old struck out eight batters through six innings of work, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk in the process.

Florida brought the go-ahead run to the plate in the ninth inning and two outs, but Jordan Rodgers (0x4) grounded out to third to end the game against Scott Squier (SV, 1).

The Fire Frogs head back home to Osceola County Stadium for a four-game series against the North division first-half champion Daytona Tortugas beginning Thursday night. LHP Joey Wentz (1-2, 3.77) will toe the rubber for Florida in the opener, while it has yet to be announced who will take the mound for Daytona. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., with coverage starting at 5:45 p.m. with the Florida Fire Frogs Pre-game Show on the Florida Fire Frogs Broadcasting Network.
