
Explosion Turn Attention to Title Defense

Erie Explosion News Release
The Erie defense limited the ASI Panthers to 89 total yards on 43 plays. Linebackers Jon D'Angelo and Stephen Johnson each had 6 tackles as they limited the Panthers to 24 yards rushing. Defensive backs David Castillo and Omar Leftwich each recorded 2 interceptions. Bob Hammer recorded a sack and 2 tackles for a loss, Tim Green totaled 4 tackles, and former Temple University standout Maurice Jones added 6 tackles to pace the Explosion defense.
"It was a good effort by our guys today, and we look forward to getting to work preparing for the Saginaw Sting. I want to commend the ASI Panther organization on their efforts today and wish them much success in the future. We are focused on the task of repeating as CIFL Champions and I look forward to the opportunity to return to Saginaw on May 9th to avenge our regular season loss," commented Erie Head Coach Shawn Liotta.
The Erie Explosion will return to action on May 9th when they travel to the Dow Event Center to face the Saginaw Sting in the first round of the CIFL playoffs.
