Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Carter Hart earned his 13th career shutout and second in as many games, lifting head coach Kevin Constantine to his 300th win in his WHL career and a 3-0 victory for the Everett Silvertips over the Prince George Cougars before 4,877 fans at XFINITY Arena on Saturday.

By propelling Constantine into elite level status for WHL bench bosses, the Silvertips are now 7-1-2 for the month of November and are 15-1-3 when scoring first this season. They moved to 40 points, top record in the Western Conference, and one back of the Medicine Hat Tigers for top record in the league.

Thanks contributions from eight different Silvertips offensively, Everett (#7, CHL rankings) was able to again silence the number one ranked Cougars. With the Silvertips' win this evening, they have won their third game against the Cougars this season. Montana Onyebuchi got his first career WHL goal. Patrick Bajkov scored an empty net goal and now has 14 points in his last 11 games.

Early into the game, Montana Onyebuchi fired a shot from the point, which trickled slowly past the goal line to give the Tips a 1-0 lead at 4:21. Everett and Prince George took almost simultaneous tripping penalties and there was 1:50 of 4-on-4 hockey but neither team capitalized nor did they have solid scoring chances. The first period saw a lot of end-to-end action.??

Gloves were dropped 2:15 into the second period as Onyebuchi squared off with Josh Anderson at center ice; both players received major penalties for the altercation. Eetu Tuulola took a questionable slashing penalty 4:02 but Prince George's power play was short lived as Brogan O'Brien was called for goaltender interference. Both teams failed to capitalize on the penalties taken.

Ryan Schoettler caught Dominic Zwerger with a knee at 15:57 and Zwerger was assisted off the ice; Zwerger was not on the bench for the remainder of the second period.

Dominic Zwerger returned to the bench at the start of the third period and took his regular line shifts for the duration of the game. The third period was played tightly by the two teams and saw a lot of end-to-end action.

At 3:16, a 2-on-0 opportunity for the Silvertips lead to Bryce Kindopp scoring the insurance goal with help from Bradly Goethals and Orrin Centazzo. Towards the end of the third, Prince George pulled the goaltender for the extra attacker and Patrick Bajkov scored the empty net goal at 18:54 to make it 3-0 Tips.

Kody McDonald and Jesse Gabrielle took liberties with the Silvertips, which lead to them getting roughing penalties and being ejected from the game. Silvertips ended the game with a 5-on-3 power play but did not capitalize.

Carter Hart's counterpart, Ty Edmonds, made 18 saves.??
