Grand Rapids Drive News Release

GREENSBORO, NC - March 4, 2017 - The Greensboro Swarm (14-26) held off a comeback from the Grand Rapids Drive (20-21), leading by as many as 19 and coming away with a 114-108 win. The Drive suffered their fourth loss in a row despite outscoring Greensboro 33-24 in the fourth quarter.

All five Greensboro starters were well into double figures, with Mike Tobey leading the way with 23 points and eight rebounds. Cat Barber chipped in 20 points and five assists and Damien Wilkins made a big impact off the bench, providing 14 points, six rebounds and 10 assists. Chieck Diallo blocked five shots to go with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Like much of the season, Jordan Crawford and Kevin Murphy were the main sources of offense on the Grand Rapids side, combining for 58 points, with Crawford finishing with 32 and scoring at least 27 points for the third consecutive game.

Lorenzo Brown, in his second game this season for the Drive, scored 19 points with four rebounds and four assists off the bench. Chris Anderson was the only other Drive player in double figures, putting up a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds, also off the bench.

The Swarm did not leave any opportunities for points on the table, going 23-of-25 from the free throw line and making 51 percent of their field goals, winning despite attempting 15 less field goals than Grand Rapids.

The Drive shot under 30 percent from three-point range for the third time in their four-game losing streak. The Swarm held Ray McCallum, who earlier in the season was called up to the Swarm's parent club the Charlotte Hornets, to just 1-of-10 from the field.

Greensboro led 65-50 at halftime and overcame a lackluster second half offensively to pick up their second win in three games. The Drive, who a week ago were just a half game out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, see their record drop back under .500.

The Swarm are off until March 10 when they host the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and the Drive begin back-to-back games on the road against Erie the same day.
