Destroyers Announce Youth Sports Academy

COLUMBUS - The Columbus Destroyers, presented by GermainCars.com, introduced its Youth Sports Academy today. The Destroyers Youth Sports Academy is an all-encompassing program that focuses on delivering informative and interactive youth sports, high school athletics, safety/wellness programs, and cheer/dance initiatives. The Youth Sports Academy will host its first event, a Youth Football Camp on Saturday, June 8th at Bo Jackson's Elite Sports in Hilliard from 9:30am-12:30pm for kids aged 7-12. Early-bird registration is open now as tickets can be purchased HERE for $25 through May 17th and those who sign up will receive a free t-shirt the day of the event.

"We are very excited to roll out our new Youth Sports Academy program," said Director of Football Operations Dominic Jones. "It's very important to us as an organization to be able to give back to our community in more ways than just football. With this initiative we look forward to hosting camps and seminars that educate our kids on a number of different topics. Whether it's sports, cheerleading, or safety/wellness, we are thrilled to be able to have fun with young athletes, while doing so in an instructive and informative way. We can't wait to get started with our first event, a Youth Football Camp on June 8th!"

Registration will begin at 9:30am on Saturday, June 8th at Bo Jackson's Elite Sports and will go until 10:20am. After a brief welcome speech, on-field drills and a gauntlet competition will begin at 10:30 and run until 11:50am before the day closes with a guest speaker and an opportunity for autographs and pictures. These special guests will be announced on social media over the coming weeks!
