NOTEWORTHY
OPENING DAY : The D-Fenders hold a 6-3 record in season-openers, including a 2-2 mark at home. On the other hand, Iowa has historically faired well in the first game of the season, entering Friday's matchup with a record of 8-1 in season-openers. The Energy have opened each of its nine seasons on the road.
2016-17 SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN:
- The D-Fenders have nine sets of back-to-back games in 2016-17
- The longest home stand of the year is 22 days/five games (1/5-1/26)
- The longest road trip of the year is 11 days/six games (1/29-2/8)
- Los Angeles will have three 'three-game in four-night' sets this season.

BLUE'S BEST: Guard Vander Blue, now in his third season with the D-Fenders, has stamped his name throughout the Los Angeles record book. In addition to being the franchise's all-time leading scorer, Blue is also LA's all-time leader in minutes, steals, field goals made and attempted, and free throws made and attempted. BLUE AMONG THE LEAGUE'S ALL-TIME LEADERS: Blue's 2,892 career points with Los Angeles, Idaho, Delaware and Maine is currently good for 13th in NBA D-League history. The guard out of Marquette is 149 points away from surpassing Justin Dentmon for 12th place all-time.
MASTER MAGETTE: Josh Magette has positioned himself as perhaps the best point guard in LA's history. Now in his third season with the team, the Alabama-Huntsville graduate leads the D-Fenders in career assists (759) and steals (206). His assist total is good for 20th on the all-time NBA D-League leader charts, and he's just 20 dimes away from passing Tierre Brown for 19th place.
FRANCHISE HISTORY: The Los Angeles D-Fenders franchise, entering its 10th season, has won two division titles (2012, 2014) and advanced to the NBA D-League Finals twice (2012 and 2016). The first team in league history to be owned by an NBA franchise, the D-Fenders are still chasing their first-ever NBA D-League title.
