D-Fenders Beat Bighorns; Advance to Western Conference Finals

RENO, NV - The D-Fenders beat the Reno Bighorns 111-108 tonight in Reno, NV to advance to the Western Conference Finals. Los Angeles hosts the Austin Spurs in Game 1 on Thursday, April 14th at 7:30pm PT.
Vander Blue (27 points, 13 rebounds) led the D-Fenders (2-1). Ryan Gomes (20 points) also reached the 20-point plateau, while Speedy Smith (17 points), Josh Magette (16 points, 7 assists) and Justin Harper (13 points, 9 rebounds) all scored in double-figures for Los Angeles.
Erick Green (33 points) paced the Bighorns (1-2). Ricky Ledo (23 points, 8 rebounds), Kadeem Jack (17 points, 9 rebounds) and David Stockton (10 points) also scored in double-figures for Reno.
Blue scored 12 points in the first quarter for Los Angeles who trailed Reno 29-26 at the end of one. Smith provided a spark for the D-Fenders in the second quarter, scoring 15 points in the period. Each team scored 33 points in the quarter, leaving Reno with a 62-59 lead at the half.
The D-Fenders outscored the Bighorns 21-19 in a slow third quarter, to leave Reno with an 81-80 advantage heading into the final frame. Los Angeles outscored Reno 31-27 in the fourth quarter behind 11 points from Magette and 10 from Gomes to clinch the series victory.
Los Angeles shot .438 from the field, compared to .470 for Reno. The contest finished with 16 ties and 20 lead changes.
Los Angles hosts the Austin Spurs on Thursday, April 14th at 7:30pm PT in El Segundo, CA.
