Colorado Crush News Release
Fort Collins, CO - The Ice falls to the Nebraska Danger in the Intense Conference Championship 15-45. It wasn't the ending the Ice were wanting to end their winning record. Their performance this game was nothing like the team we saw in their 10-4 regular season.
The Nebraska Danger were able to basically shut down Willie Copeland as they held the Ice to their lowest point total this season. In total the Ice offense had 204 yards and two touchdowns. Copeland had 196 yards but unfortunately was sacked three times to account for negative 21 yards. Copeland also threw three interceptions. Colorado's two touchdowns came from Kyle Kaiser and a run from Copeland.
The Ice defense couldn't stop the Danger's explosiveness as they had four touchdowns and 239 total yards. Runza Player of the Game Corey Sample had the team lead 5 tackles and one interception. Five players - Sample, Joe Thornton, Harcourt Farquharson, Deante Purvis and Malcom Williams - had broken up passes.
The biggest factor in this loss was that the Danger were able to maintain the tempo for the entirety of the game. Unfortunately the Ice couldn't change that and it resulted in the end of their season.
