FORT COLLINS, CO - The ICE (1-2) secured their first victory of the 2009 season in front of their home crowd this Saturday, April 11th 2009 against the Bloomington Extreme (3-2). The ICE defense dominated the game, holding the Extreme's offense to primarily the first half.

Scoring opened in the first quarter at the 10:46 mark with Bloomington getting a 4-yard pass from Mitch Tanney to former AFL star, Peter Warrick. The ICE answered at the 7:26 mark with a 6-yard pass from Justin Holland to WR Justin Gallas. Bloomington nabbed the next touchdown at the 2:41 mark in the first quarter with a 7 yard pass from Tanney to Robert Redd, bringing the score to 7-13 Bloomington. The ICE responded by scoring three touchdowns, two from Justin Holland to Josh Gibson, at the 6:30 mark (12 yard pass) and 0:22 mark (8 yard pass) in the second quarter. ICE kicker Rocky Stevens brought the score to 24-23 ICE, the first ICE lead in the game. Holland's 4 yard pass to Gallas at the 0:22 mark in the third quarter continued the ICE offensive streak, brining the score to 30-23 ICE at the end of the third quarter. Bloomington attempted to get their offense going again with a 30 yard field goal from Pete Christofilakos. The rally was too little too late, as ICE WR Josh Gibson answered with a 57 yard kickoff return. Scoring closed with a surprise 44 yard interception and touchdown from ICE linebacker Ryan Palmer at the 1:16 mark of the fourth quarter.

The next ICE home game is Saturday, April 18th at 7 pm at the Budweiser Events Center against the Fairbanks Grizzlies.
