City Commission Honors Renegades

Rome Renegades News Release
The 2006 Rome Renegades were honored by the Rome City Commission Monday night July 17th. Owner Harry Pierce Jr. and Coach David Humphreys accepted an official proclamation from Mayor Pro- Tem Howard 'Buzz' Wachstster. The proclamation reads

WHEREAS; the Rome Renegades have served as a training ground to develop professional players, coaches, and personnel with emphasis placed on fundamental development, career development community involvement and education and
WHEREAS; because of the insight and wisdom of the owners by bringing this team to Rome; they have provided wholesome family entertainment and contributed to our community life; and
WHEREAS; Rome Renegades played in the 2006 American Bowl on Monday, July 3 which exemplified them as one of the top two teams in the nation; and
WHEREAS; David Humphreys, Head Coach has led the Rome Renegades to two championship games in two different leagues in two consecutive seasons, and
WHEREAS; Coach Humphreys has been named the American Indoor Football League Southern Conference Coach of the Year, and
WHEREAS: Coach Humphreys along with his coaching staff guided the Renegades to a 14-3 season in 2006.
NOW THEREFORE, I Ronald J. Wallace, Mayor of Rome on behalf of the Rome City Commission would like to call upon the citizens of Rome to join me in congratulating the Rome Renegades for a triumphant season and to thank them, the coaches, staff and owners for all they have done for our community.
