The Canton Charge (11-8), powered by the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, topped the Northern Arizona Suns (10-9), 111-98, in Prescott Valley on Friday night. The win is Canton's fifth straight and seventh in their last eight. The loss was the Suns' eighth in a row.
Canton's Quinn Cook led all scorers with 34 points to go along with six rebounds, six assists and three steals in 42 minutes. It was Cook's second consecutive 30+ point game after coming into tonight second in the NBA D-League in scoring, averaging 25.7 points per contest.
The Charge's Gerald Beverly provided a spark off the bench of 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting with eight boards in 18 efficient minutes for a +24 impact when on the floor. Chris Evans netted 20 points with seven assists and three steals in 40 minutes. John Holland added 16 points, while Eric Moreland posted a double-double of 11 points and 12 boards with five blocks in 37 minutes.
All five Suns starters scored in double figures, led by Elijah Milsap's 25 points with nine boards and five assists in 44 minutes. Askia Booker scored 20 points in 28 minutes. Derrick Jones Jr. scored 12 points in 23 minutes on assignment from Phoenix.
