Cleveland Charge News Release
The Canton Charge powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, will honor our armed forces past and present with Military Appreciation Night presented by Constellation and The Patriot Project on March 4th versus the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
Charge players will wear special camouflage jerseys to be auctioned off in-game benefitting The Patriot Project, a North Canton-based organization that provides free chiropractic care to the military, veterans and blue star families. Fans will have the chance to bid on these jerseys throughout the game, with the winners being presented their player's jersey postgame in a special ceremony. The first 2,000 fans will also receive a Charge military jersey t-shirt presented by Terminix.
Fans in attendance will get an opportunity to hear from American hero Leroy A. Petry, who will speak pregame about his experiences serving our country that led to him being awarded our country's highest valor, the Congressional Medal of Honor. Leroy will also present the night's game ball and greet all jersey auction winners who have contributed to The Patriot Project's noble cause.
Before coming into the Civic Center, fans will be able to take photos with various military and police vehicles & equipment on the plaza between the Cultural Center. The pregame festivities will also feature a swearing-in ceremony for dozens of marines prior to the game. Stark County police officers will also be honored with yearly awards on the court during the game.
