
Bighorns Trade for Former NBA Player Jordan Hamilton

RENO, NEV., Dec. 10, 2014- The Reno Bighorns completed a trade today with the Iowa Energy, with Reno acquiring the player rights for former NBA player Jordan Hamilton, along with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers' original second round pick in the 2015 NBA Development League draft. Iowa will receive the Bighorns 2015 NBA Development League first round draft pick.
Hamilton (6'7", 220), played 126 games in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets (2011-13), as well as the Houston Rockets (2013-14), with career averages of 5.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. Hamilton was selected with the 26th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks.
Hamilton spent the 2014 preseason with the Toronto Raptors, before being acquired by the Utah Jazz. Hamilton played collegiately at Texas, and was named First Team All Big-12 in 2011.
The Bighorns take on the Idaho Stampede at home this week on Friday at 7 p.m. Sunday, the Bighorns will play at home again, hosting the Erie Bayhawks at 5 p.m. Fans who make a nonperishable food donation either night at the doors of the Reno Events Center will receive a ticket to the night's game.
