BIGHORNS DROP WIRE-TO-WIRE BATTLE AGAINST THE HERD

Reggie Hearn led the Bighorns with 19 points and eight rebounds while Sacramento Kings assignee Georgios Papagiannis recorded his first double-double of the season with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocks. Aaron Harrison scored 18 points and grabbed three rebounds.

Xavier Munford paced the Herd with 31 points, six rebounds and six assists while JeQuan Lewis had 15 points and four assists.

The Bighorns took control of the game early going on an 21-11 run to lead Wisconsin at the 5:53 mark. The Bighorns would hold the edge over the Herd the entirety of the first frame opening their lead to as many at 17 points behind Hearn's 12 points in the quarter.

The Bighorns kept the Herd at bay with a double-digit lead until Kyle Casey made a lay-up to trigger a 21-10 run to take control of the lead with 2:44 to play in the first half. The Herd maintained their momentum going into the locker room at the half with a seven-point cushion.

The Bighorns started the third quarter going on a 5-0 run to retake the lead after a hook shot from Papagiannis. The teams alternated the lead eight times and tied six in under five minutes before the Bighorns went on a 9-3 run to hold a six-point advantage at the 4:00 mark. The Herd battled back to edge the Bighorns by one point entering the final quarter.

The Herd opened up the fourth quarter with back-to-back triples before the Bighorns responded with a 12-0 run to have a four-point lead over the Heard with 6:21 left in play. Wisconsin retook the lead after jumpers from Jarvis Summers. The Heard went on a late 10-3 run to preserve the lead the remainder of the game.

Reno will next host the Aqua Caliente Clippers on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.
