
Bighorns Drop Series to Skyforce

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. ---- The Reno Bighorns (20-16) fell to the Sioux Falls Skyforce (19-17) 110-93 Saturday night at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, SD.
Sacramento Kings Two-Way Player JaKarr Sampson recorded a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds while Luis Montero had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Mike Bethea recorded a season-high 19 points.
Briante Weber paced the Skyforce with 27 points and 11 rebounds while Ike Nwamu had 20 points and three rebounds.
The Bighorns jumped out to a quick advantage in the opening frame, going on a 8-3 run to lead by five points two minutes into the period. The Skyforce swiftly responded by outscoring the Bighorns 33-8 through the remainder of the quarter. Weber scored 13 points and grabbed three rebounds in the opening frame, fueling the Skyforce's 36-16 lead at the end of the period.
The Skyforce continued to carry the momentum through the second period to lead by as many as 21 points. The Bighorns would go on an 7-3 run to come within 12 points of the Sioux Falls, but would enter the break trailing 61-44.
The hosts expanded their lead to 28 points in the third frame, holding a double-digit lead throughout the frame while forcing five turnovers from Reno. Heading into the final period, the Skyforce held a 13-point lead.
In the fourth quarter, Sioux Falls would lead Reno by as many as 19 points while outscoring the visitors 30-26 in the frame to sweep the weekend series 2-0.
