Pensacola Barracudas News Release

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Pensacola Barracudas' assistant head coach Ed Cunningham may not be on the sidelines of the Civic Center this weekend, but local fans can still hear his voice.

Cunningham will be the color analyst Saturday for the semifinal round of the Arena Football League playoffs. He will join play-by-play announcer Tim Brandt and sideline reporter Samantha Ryan as San Jose hosts Orlando for the right to play in the Arena Bowl. That game, set for August 18, will also be broadcast by Cunningham, Brandt and Ryan.

The Barracudas finished the season with a two-game winning streak to post an 8-8 record while playing the second-toughest schedule in arenafootball2. Three of Pensacola's opponents are still alive in the playoffs – Birmingham will travel to Tulsa Thursday and Macon and Florida will face each other Saturday.

Saturday's AFL broadcast will be a preview of the tandem of Brandt and Cunningham. The duo will team to broadcast ABC's coverage of college football this season and will concentrate mainly on the Atlantic Coast Conference and Big East Conference.

Their first college assignment will be when 13th-ranked LSU visits number 16 Virginia Tech September 1.

Airtime this Saturday is scheduled for 2 p.m. (CDT).
