BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators and the Magic Paintbrush Project will host the third annual "Paint with the Players" art workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

The unique event pairs 23 special needs families and 23 players for a painting workshop, which includes the players painting on the ice with slap shot art followed by a formal painting session on the concourse level of the Arena. A pizza party is planned for all participants.

The artwork created during the "Paint with the Players" event will be on display at B-Sens' games on Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22. In addition, a one-of-a-kind painted jersey from this art workshop will be auctioned during the aforementioned games.

Special needs families interested in participating in the event must register with the Magic Paintbrush Project at 729-5059 prior to the event date.

The event is open to the public and media is welcome to attend.

This annual event is supported by BAE Systems, Binghamton Breakfast Rotary, Lourdes Hospital, Oakdale Mall, Raymond Corporation, The Clay Ground of Vestal, United Health Systems and W & W Nursery & Landscaping.

The Magic Paintbrush Project provides facilitated workshops, which complement special needs interventions for individuals, families, and professionals facing the challenges of a special needs diagnosis. The Project's workshops reinforce rehabilitative interventions, addressing the participant's needs while engaging their caregiver. Using art supplies, trained staff, and specially designed activities, participants engage in an atmosphere that is fun and relaxing.
