Grand Rapids Drive Partner with Covenanat Village and Senior Neighbors

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Mar. 5 - The Grand Rapids Drive have partnered with Covenant Village of the Great Lakes and Senior Neighbors to invite the senior and veteran members of the Grand Rapids community out for a night of fellowship and fun as the Drive host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants March 9th - Tip-off is set for 7 PM at the DeltaPlex Arena.

Senior Night includes a social hour from 6-7 PM with a 10-piece band, cookies and punch. The package will also include a hotdog, soda and chips and members will be invited to join us in basketball bingo during the game!

As title sponsors, Covenant Village of the Great Lakes and Senior Neighbors have used their knowledge of the Grand Rapids community to present a night that is sure to be fun for anyone! Covenant Village of the Great Lakes' continued support of Senior Neighbors and partnership with the Drive provides a unique opportunity for sports fans of any age.

"Covenant Village of the Great Lakes is a big fan of the Grand Rapids Drive, so we're excited to come out to support the team on Senior Night," says interim Executive Director Sara Forsman. "Sponsoring Senior Night is also our way of supporting an organization dear to our hearts and to the hearts of many area seniors. Senior Neighbors is a vital resource for the local community. Funds raised throughout the evening will help them continue to provide services to seniors who need them most."

Senior Neighbors is dedicated to promoting independent living for adults 60 years and older, that are part of the Grand Rapids community and promoting essential services that help seniors remain independent into their late years. Centers focus heavily on health and wellness programming as everyone works to aggressively pursue the mission of enhancing the lives of seniors. Their motto...No Longer Alone.

"Whether it's finding transportation to an appointment with your doctor or getting out to a fun event with friends and family, we will take the steps with you!" said Eddie Harris, Senior Neighbors Grand Rapids Coordinator.

Fans can also support Senior Neighbors by purchasing 50/50 mini-basketballs. At the end of the third quarter, the fan with the ball closest to the on-court bullseye will split the 50/50 pot with Senior Neighbors. Support a great cause here in Grand Rapids and practice your target skills!
