April 22, 2014 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Orlando Predators News Release

ORLANDO, FL - The Orlando Predators announced today that the franchise has acquired veteran wide receiver Larry Brackins in a trade with the Philadelphia Soul. Today's transaction completes a previous trade that sent the second overall claim order pick to Philadelphia last week.

"Larry has produced at a high level throughout his AFL career," said Head Coach Rob Keefe. "He is a knowledgeable wide receiver and a tremendous competitor. I'm excited to have the opportunity to add a player of his caliber to our already talented receiving corps."

Now in his seventh season in the Arena Football League, Brackins (6-5, 225, Pearl River CC) has racked up 319 receptions for 3,872 yards and 109 touchdowns in his AFL career. The move reunites Brackins with current Predators Head Coach Rob Keefe, as the duo won an ArenaBowl title together as players with the Philadelphia Soul in 2008.

Brackins played collegiately at Pearl River Community College (Poplarville, MS), where he earned All-American accolades after collecting 101 receptions for 1,834 yards and 19 touchdowns over two campaigns. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played for two seasons.

Brackins entered the Arena Football League with the Philadelphia Soul in 2007 and immediately made an impact, delivering 786 yards and 20 scores on 56 catches as a rookie. He enjoyed a career year the following season, posting 107 receptions for 1,395 yards and 29 touchdowns while helping the team earn an ArenaBowl XXII victory over the San Jose SaberCats.

Following the 2008 AFL season, Brackins was signed by the New York Jets during training camp. He returned to Arena Football upon the League's revival in 2010, joining the Dallas Vigilantes. Brackins has spent the last three years with Philadelphia, where he has helped the team secure a berth in the ArenaBowl in each of the past two seasons.

The Orlando Predators return to CFE Arena in Week 7 to take on the New Orleans VooDoo on Saturday, April 26th. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST. Tickets are available for purchase by calling 407-648-4444!
