Calgary Stampeders News Release

The Calgary Stampeders travel to BC Place on Saturday to face the BC Lions in Week 8 Canadian Football League action. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. MDT.

It's the Stamps' first trip to BC Place since the Red and White defeated the Lions 34-29 in the 2012 West Division final on Nov. 18.

Fans in the Calgary can catch all the action at the Stamps' official site for Road Game Tweet-ups - Shark Club Deerfoot Meadows (7995 11th St. SE).

Both Calgary and BC are off to solid starts in 2013 as the Stampeders are 5-1 thanks to an active four-game winning streak while the Lions are 4-2 and have won four of five contests since dropping a 44-32 decision to Calgary in the season-opener on June 28 at McMahon Stadium.

The Stamps are coming off a 42-27 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Week 7 while the Lions were on a bye last week. BC's latest game was a 27-20 home-field victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Aug. 5.

The Stamps are 2-1 on the road so far this season while the Lions are 3-0 at BC Place and have won nine in a row on home turf dating back to last season.

This is the second of four meetings between the Stamps and Lions as the teams will meet again on Oct. 11 at McMahon and in the regular-season finale on Nov. 1 at BC Place.

The Stampeders' next home action comes on Monday, Sept. 2 when they play host to the Edmonton Eskimos in the Labour Day Classic presented by Jayman. Kickoff at McMahon Stadium is at 3 p.m. and tickets are available at Stampeders.com
