New Jersey 4, Newark 3

An RBI single by Danny Rams in the eighth inning propelled the Jackals to a 4-3 win over Newark this morning at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium. New Jersey and Newark had exchanged runs over the first five innings, as New Jersey came back to tie the game twice and took a brief lead in the fifth. In the bottom of the fifth, however, the Bears knotted the score back up at 3-3 when Brandon Newton brought home Stephen Malcolm. The game remained deadlocked until Rams' single scored Bryan Sabatella with the go-ahead run. Rams' RBI helped RHP Craig Heyer pick up his third win of the year. Tim Adleman came in for the final two innings and earned his third save of the season.
