
Stalwart Hinson Rounds out Wingnuts' Roster

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts finalized their 22-man 2013 Opening Night roster on Tuesday with the return of left-handed pitcher Ryan Hinson.
Hinson was 9-8 for the Wingnuts in 2012 with a 4.85 ERA in 24 appearances, 21 of them as a starter. The third-year Wingnuts' pitcher walked just 39 batters in 137.1 innings while striking out 93. Hinson earned the win in Game Two of last year's Division Series at Laredo, holding the Lemurs to one earned run in five and two-thirds innings.
The 26-year-old Hinson ranks second all-time in Wingnuts' history in wins (20), third in strikeouts (177), and fifth in winning percentage (.606). Hinson was 11-5 for Wichita in 2011 while ranking fifth in the American Association with a 3.35 ERA. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Hinson is also one of only two pitchers in team history to start a game in multiple postsesons (2011 and 2012).
Hinson enters his fifth year of professional baseball with a 21-16 career record and a 4.72 ERA over 324.1 innings of work. The Rock Hill, SC native was originally drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 10th round out of Clemson University in 2009. Hinson posted a 3.70 ERA during his four seasons with the Tigers, striking out 200 batters in 219.1 collegiate frames.
Former Major Leaguer Jon Link is expected to start for the Wingnuts on Opening Night this Thursday against the Kansas City T-Bones at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

The Wingnuts close out their exhibition schedule on Wednesday morning against the Winnipeg Goldeyes. First pitch at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium is scheduled for 11:05 a.m. Tickets are just $7 general admission and can be purchased at the gate.
The 2013 season of Wichita Wingnuts baseball begins Thursday, May 16th against the Kansas City T-Bones at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. Prior to the game, a ceremony celebrating the life of bench coach Brian Rose will take place.
Beginning this season, fans can use cash at all points of sale in Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. Debit and credit cards will still be accepted. Fans can resolve outstanding balances on cash cards from previous years until June 1st, 2013.
