BayHawks to Host Autism Awareness Day April 1st

Erie, Pennsylvania, Monday, March 25 - The Erie BayHawks will kickoff National Autism Awareness month with a special Autism Awareness game on Monday, April 1st at 1:00 PM. The Monday matinee will feature in-game adjustments to provide a comfortable environment for those with Autism.
During the game, the team will keep audio levels at a lower volume and provide lighting adjustments to prevent sensory overload. The BayHawks will also provide resting rooms for anyone who might need a break from the action.
The Achievement Center will be on hand to distribute information and heighten awareness of Autism through handouts and in-game announcements.
Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the United States. Someone is diagnosed with an Autism spectrum disorder every 15 minutes. Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases. There is no medical detection or cure for Autism.
Main Level tickets for Monday's game will be reduced to just five dollars, a 50% savings. The BayHawks are currently fighting for playoff position with five games remaining in the regular season. They return home this Friday, March 29 to kickoff a four game home stand to finish the season.
