Rogues Players Continue to Shine

MEDFORD, OR - With another week of the college season all wrapped up, the Rogues are continuing to see production from their players with a few starting to make names for themselves in college baseball. Here are the best of the best from the last weekend of play.

Standout performances by Rogues players during the fourth week of play:

Cash McGuire, 2B, Seattle U: McGuire went 3-5 with double, two runs scored and a stolen base in the Redhawks' 8-4 win over Portland on Sunday.

Josh Potter, 1B, Campbellsville: Potter hit 2-4 with a run scored and an RBI in the first game against Dakota State. In a double-header sweep of Dakota State, Potter went 3-6 and is now hitting .364 on the season.

Justin Jacome, LHP, UC Santa Barbara: Jacome went 6 2/3 innings giving up only two runs and totaling five strikeouts in a 3-2 loss to Texas. The true freshman is now 1-1, 3.42 on the year.

Ryan Teel, Catcher, U. of Nevada-Reno: Teel hit a two-run triple to help the WolfPack defeated Utah Valley 10-3 on Saturday.

Steven Kha, Catcher, Corban: In game one on Sunday, Kha went 2-5 with an RBI. In day two's double-header, Kha drove in one run in the first game and two in the second.

Matt Page, INF, Oklahoma Baptist: Page went 1-2 with a stolen base in the Bison's 5-2 win over Oklahoma City on Saturday.

INF/OF Joe Chavez (UC Riverside) shined last weekend in a four game series against New Mexico. Chavez went 11-19 in the series with nine RBI, six runs scored, and two stolen bases. With this performance, Chavez is now leading the Highlanders in batting average with a .368 on the season. He was also named Big West Conference Player of the Week for his performance in five games last week.

The West Coast League is an 11-team collegiate wood-bat baseball league composed of the best college players, coaches, facilities and operators in the industry. Ranging from Medford, Oregon north to Kelowna, B.C., the league has operated as the WCL since 2005. In 2012, a league record 57 WCL players were selected in the Major League draft.
