Rogues OF Named Player of the Week

MEDFORD, OR - The Medford Rogues are proud to announce that 2B/OF Joe Chavez (UC Riverside) was named Big West Conference Player of the Week today.

The freshman from Ontario, CA, had five straight multi-hit games, scored eight runs, drove in nine and was 4-4 in stolen bases for the week. In a weekend series against New Mexico in Albuquerque, Chavez went 11-14 against the Lobos, driving in eight.

The West Coast League is an 11-team collegiate wood-bat baseball league composed of the best college players, coaches, facilities and operators in the industry. Ranging from Medford, Oregon north to Kelowna, B.C., the league has operated as the WCL since 2005. In 2012, a league record 57 WCL players were selected in the Major League draft.
