Richmond Kickers News Release
RICHMOND, VA - (Tuesday, March 5, 2013) - The Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce the signing of former FC Dallas defender, Alex Lee, pending USSF approval.
"Alex is an exciting addition to the squad," commented Leigh Cowlishaw, Richmond Kickers Director of Soccer. "He is comfortable centrally or on the right side of defense and has an impressive collegiate pedigree with Maryland. The commitment and desire to return to MLS has been evident in his play so far and this is exactly the type of motivated player we wish to add this season."
A Rockville, Maryland native, Lee was the first pick in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft for FC Dallas following a standout collegiate career at University of Maryland where he finished with four assists in 65 appearances. He captained the Terps to a 14-4-3 season in 2011, leading the team to a 1.05 goals against average, after contributing to a program-record 15 shutouts as a junior.
