
Warriors Post Season-Best 130 Points to Defeat Vipers

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors bounced back from Friday night's loss and defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 130-112 Saturday night in a game where seven Warriors scored in double figures.
The Santa Cruz Warriors were led by Taylor Griffin, who scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Daniel Nwaelele stayed hot from distance, scoring 20 points - he is 12-21 (57.1%) from three in the last three games. Stefhon Hannah chipped in with 19 points, while Cameron Jones logged his first double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Rio Grande Valley was paced by Tyler Honeycutt, on assignment from the Houston Rockets, who scored a game-high 25 points and had a game-high 13 boards. Andrew Goudelock scored 23, while Glen Rice Jr. scored 21 and was one rebound shy of a double-double.
Santa Cruz scored 40 points in the first quarter and never trailed in the game. The Warriors scored 65 points in the second half, the most this season, and ended with a season-best 130 points. Santa Cruz held the edge on shooting percentage (48.4%-40.4%), rebounds (55-44), assists (31-21) and points in the paint (50-44).
The Warriors will return to the Kaiser Permanente Arena on Friday, March 8 to take on the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 7:00 p.m. Every fan in attendance will receive a Stephen Curry bobblehead.
