
Santa Cruz Warriors Pour in 114 to Defeat Maine Red Claws

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors defeated the Maine Red Claws 114-88 in front of a sold-out crowd Saturday behind a season-high 40 first quarter points.
The Warriors were led by Travis Leslie, who posted a game-high 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Stefhon Hannah added 22 points, including four three-pointers. Cameron Jones chipped in 16 points and seven assists, and Darington Hobson scored 15 off the bench.
Maine was paced by Chris Wright, who scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds off the bench. Shelvin Mack added 19 points and James Mays and Garrett Stutz both chipped in with 12 points.
Santa Cruz's defense was again on display, with the Warriors holding the Red Claws to 33.7% shooting from the floor. The Warriors shot 49.5% from the field, and outrebounded the Red Claws 59-50. The first quarter saw Leslie score 16 and Santa Cruz drain 40, shooting 70.8% from the field. Santa Cruz went on to score 29 in the second quarter, adding up to 69 before the break, another season-high for the team.
The Warriors will tip-off against Reno on Tuesday, February 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kaiser Permanente Arena.
