Corvallis Knights News Release

Former Corvallis Knights pitcher Aaron Corwin of Colorado Mesa University was one of 150 players from across the country named to the watch list for the 2013 Tino Martinez Award, given to nation's top NCAA Division II Baseball Player.

A senior right-hander, Corwin played for the Knights in 2010 and 2012. He transferred to CMU for his senior season following a coaching change at Texas Tech, where he lettered in 2011 and 2012 as a reliever.

Players from all eight NCAA Division II regions are included on the watch list, which is trimmed as the season progresses. Players can be added at the midway point of the season.

The award is named in honor of Martinez, a former star at the University of Tampa who later played for the United State Olympic team and for the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees in a lengthy major-league career.
