Round Rock Express News Release
AUSTIN - In the life of a professional golfer, sometimes just one swing is all you get. With that swing could come a swarm of cheers and boos.
PGA Tour champion Peter Jacobsen knows about that all too well. That's why he teamed up with members of the award-winning rock-roots band Reckless Kelly, Cody Braun, Willy Braun and Joe Miller, and brothers Micky and Gary Braun of Micky and the Motorcars to create the musical powerhouse that is "Jake Trout and the Ball Washers."
They recently released their first single "Cheers and Boos," a tongue-in-cheek golf song about conquering the ever-elusive 16th hole at the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course, and the fans that come with it. The song and accompanying music video was featured at the Waste Management Phoenix Open on NBC February 2nd and 3rd. The video features the likes of Masters Champion Bubba Watson and PGA pros Ricky Fowler, Hunter Mahan and Keegan Bradley.
The song is currently available for download on iTunes, with all proceeds benefiting Reckless Kelly's Charitable Youth Foundation. The foundation, in conjunction with the fifth annual Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam, continues to give back to the Austin youth through area little league chapters, RBI Austin and the Miracle League at Town & Country. "Working with my great friends Cody, Willy, Gary and Micky Braun on the song 'Cheers and Boos' was a dream come true for a frustrated musician and music lover like me," Jacobsen said. "I fully support the incredible charitable work the Braun family is doing in the city of Austin."
