Buffalo Bandits News Release

BUFFALO, NY ( February 7, 2013) --- The Buffalo Bandits today announced the recipient of the $1,000 scholarship that the team will award at "Native American Night" at this weekend's Feb. 9 home game against the Rochester Knighthawks.

Caitlin Snyder, of the Seneca Nation Wolf Clan, has been selected to receive the $1,000 scholarship. Snyder graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Syracuse University in 2010. She is currently attending Canisius College, working toward a Master of Science in Counselor Education. Her career goal is to become a school counselor for grades K-12 in the Native American population.

Snyder, who was selected from a number of applicants by members of the Buffalo Bandits organization, will be presented with the scholarship in a ceremony at Saturday's Bandits game against the Rochester Knighthawks.

Other special activities for the night will include traditional Native American music and dance ceremonies, and the team will honor the Six Nations Thunder Tribe team for winning the U15 National Field Lacrosse Championship at the Dick's Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions held in Tampa, Fla. in December 2012.
