Joining them will be Rangers bench coach and former Express manager Jackie Moore, left-handed pitcher Derek Holland, newly acquired right-handed pitcher Josh Lindblom, infielder Brandon Snyder, Rangers senior executive vice president Jim Sundberg and radio broadcaster Steve Busby.
Moore served as the first manager of the Express franchise, leading the team to the playoffs in five of his eight seasons at the helm. He is heading into his fifth season as bench coach of the Rangers after joining the team after the 2008 season.
Holland made a brief rehab appearance with the Express, going 0-2 in two starts. He has been a member of the Rangers pitching staff since 2009, helping led them to the postseason the past three years. Holland finished last season with a record of 12-7 and a 4.67 ERA in 29 appearances (27 starts).
Lindblom joins the Rangers after being traded from the Phillies in the deal that sent utility infielder Michael Young to Philadelphia. The right-hander has seen major league time with both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Phillies. He had a combined 3-5 record with a 3.55 ERA in 74 appearances between the two clubs in 2012.
Snyder spent part of last season with the Express, after starting the season with the Rangers. In 23 games in Round Rock, he hit .253 (22-for-87) with nine extra-base hits. Originally drafted 13th overall by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft, Snyder was traded to the Rangers in January 2012.
Sundberg is a member of the inaugural class of the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame following a 16-year major league career with the Rangers, Brewers, Royals and Cubs. A three-time All-Star and six-time Gold Glove recipient for his defensive skills behind the dish, Sundberg assists team president Ryan and general manager Jon Daniels with baseball matters.
Busby, a member of the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame, joins the Rangers radio broadcast team. Drafted by the Royals in 1971, he pitched the first no-hitter in team history in 1973. The following year, he became the first pitcher in major-league history to throw two no-hitters in his first two seasons.
