Sundogs End 2012 with a Bang, 8-2 Victory

Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs ended 2012 with a bang and an 8-2 victory over the Bloomington Blaze Monday night at Tim's Toyota Center. Arizona's four out of eight goals were collected in the opening frame.

Chad Nehring collected the Sundogs first hat trick of the season, scoring four goals in one game and was credited with the game winning goal. Nehring also continues his point streak tallying at least a point in his last six games. He collected three of his four goals in the first period. Nehring tallied his fourth goal three in a half minutes into the second period. Derek LeBlanc opened the game thirty seconds into the first period with an unassisted goal. David Gilbert scored for Bloomington two minutes into the first period.

Ron Meyers with assistance from Jason Morgan scored Arizona's fifth goal less than a minute into the second 20 minutes. Jeff Kyrzakos and Matt Tassone also scored for Arizona solidifying their lead. Jon Booras was credited with Blaze's second goal of the evening. Jake Hauswirth, Chad Langlais, Jason Morgan, Adam Smyth, Matt Tassone, Johan Ryd and Matt McCready all picked up points.

David Brown took the win for Arizona with 27 saves. Arizona was 1-4 on the power play and Bloomington was 0-1. The Sundogs outshot Blaze 49-29. The Sundogs now head on the road for their remaining two games against Bloomington this season.
