Indiana Ice News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ice look to extend their winning streak to five games this weekend with a road contest against the Youngstown Phantoms on Saturday before closing the 2012 calendar against the Chicago Steel on Sunday from Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Sunday's game begins at 6:05 pm and is presented by Reis Nichols Jewelers.

The Ice is riding their first three-game winning streak after going a perfect 3-0-0 in a trio of contests last week. Anderson Snair earned a win in his first USHL start as Indy topped Team USA 4-3 in overtime last Tuesday. Drew Newmeyer and Jason Salvaggio logged a pair of assists as the Ice recorded another 4-3 overtime win against Chicago on Friday. Four different Icemen scored as Indy knocked off the Green Bay Gamblers 4-2 on Saturday for their third-straight win.

Indy is 0-2-0 against Youngstown in two games during the 2012-2013 campaign. Drew Smolcynski leads all Icemen in scoring against the Phantoms with four points (3G, A) and joins Brian Morgan as one of two Indy players with a hat trick against Youngstown this season. Smolcynski recorded three goals and an assist in the teams' first meeting in late October while Morgan's natural hat trick occurred when the squads met in mid-November.

Chicago and Indy will be meeting for the fifth time this season, with the Ice controlling a 3-1-0 record against the Steel. Smolcynski is the top scorer in the series with six points (3G, 3A) while captain Woody Hudson has four goals against Chicago. Dalton Izyk has been in net for all four contests, garnering a 3-1-0 record with a .905 save percentage.

Sunday's contest at Bankers Life Fieldhouse is presented by Reis Nichols Jewelers. One fan will have the opportunity to win free jewelry, courtesy of Reis Nichols Jewelers. The puck is set to drop at 6:05 pm.
