Road Win Keeps Detroit in First PlaceDecember 9, 2012 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) - Detroit Waza
Ohio scored early and held Detroit to a 1-0 lead for the entire first quarter. Detroit never lost focus hitting hard in the second, racking up 5 unanswered goals (Aaron Byrd, Drew Ducker-2, Costea Decu-2) holding Ohio scoreless.
The Vortex made a push in the second half adding two, but Detroit ended all hopes of a comeback netting four more in the third with team leader Tino Scicluna finding the back of the net along with veterans Miki Djerisilo, Niki Djokic, and Michael Grba.
"The game got a bit chippy," commented head coach Dominic Scicluna, "there were 27 fouls called, including 4 yellow cards, but our guys kept their composure and kept the goals coming."
The fourth quarter found the Vortex silenced as Detroit added four more points to the board (Grba, Darrel Quinn, Djerisilo, and Ducker) in what can only be described as a blow out win for Detroit WAZA 13-3.
