NLL Vet Patterson, Seattle's Snider Among Five to Sign with Stealth

EVERETT, Wash. - The Washington Stealth have signed NLL veteran goalkeeper Nick Patterson and Seattle high school All-American Drew Snider along with Canadians Mark Negrin, Mitch McMichael and Ben McCullough each to a one-year agreement.

The five were among 43 prospects to participate in the professional box lacrosse club's pre-season try-out camp this past Saturday and Sunday in Arlington and Everett, Wash.

Patterson (Victoria, B.C.), a 6-0, 205 pound seven-year NLL veteran goaltender spent 2005 - 2011 with the Minnesota Swarm before sitting out the 2012 season. In 2011, his final season with the Swarm, the 29-year-old compiled an 11.08 GAA and .768 save percentage in 18 games.

Snider (Seattle, Wash. / O'Dea HS), a 6-0, 175-pound field lacrosse standout with professional experience playing for Denver of the MLL, helped guide Maryland to the NCAA Men's Division I title game in each of the last two seasons. As a Terrapins midfielder, the 24-year-old was named team captain as a senior, scoring 24 goals and seven assists for 31 points. He amassed 49 goals and 16 assists (65 points) with 39 ground balls during his four-year career with the Terps. As a prep, Snider was twice-named a high school lacrosse All-American while attending Seattle's O'Dea High School.

Negrin (Coquitlam, B.C.) is a 6-1, 200-pound left-handed forward. The 22-year-old scored six goals and eight assists for 14 points during Coquitlam's regular-season run to the championship series of 2012 Western Lacrosse Association campaign.

McMichael (Port Perry, Ont.) is a 5-11, 195 pound left-handed defense/transition player who scored three goals and five assists for eight points as a senior midfielder at Cornell. Used in face-off and man-up situations as a collegian, McMichael completed his four-year field lacrosse career with the Big Red scoring 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points.

McCullough (Brampton, Ont.) is a fiery, feisty 6-0, 195-pound right-handed defense/transition player that helped guide Western Lacrosse Association Victoria into the 2012 post season. The 24-year-old Victoria, B.C. resident finished the 2012 WLA campaign with a single goal. He played NCAA Div. III field lacrosse at SUNY Potsdam (N.Y.) and was selected by Buffalo as the #13 pick overall (second round) in the 2010 NLL entry draft.

All five will join Stealth veterans and NLL draft picks at the club's next training camp Dec. 1 in Arlington, Wash. (Soccer First Indoor Sports) and Dec. 2 in Everett, Wash. (Comcast Arena). The selection process to determine final roster spots on the 2013 roster continues Dec. 8 and 9 in Langley, B.C. (Langley Events Centre), and Dec. 15 and 16 in Everett, Wash. (Comcast Arena). The final training camp weekend takes place on December 29 and 30 also in Everett, Wash. (Comcast Arena).

Final cuts to determine the active 23-man roster and three practice-roster spots take place on December 20.
