Otters' Connor Brown Named OHL Player of the Week

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced that forward Connor Brown of the Erie Otters is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 11 after recording seven points in two games scoring twice with five assists and a plus-minus rating of plus-6.

Brown led the Otters to back-to-back wins for the first time this season beginning with a 6-3 victory over the Peterborough Petes on Friday night. In that contest Brown produced his first career four-point game with two goals and two assists and was named first star of the game. He followed up that performance with a three-assist effort on Saturday as the Otters defeated the East Division leading Oshawa Generals 6-1.

Brown, an 18-year-old from Etobicoke, ON, is playing in his second OHL season. The Otters' captain was selected in the sixth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs and currently leads his team in scoring with 16 goals and 12 assists for 28 points in 20 games.

Also considered for the award this week was Buffalo Sabres prospect Daniel Catenacci of the Owen Sound Attack who scored three goals and five assists for eight points in three games, while Matt Rupert of the London Knights scored five goals and two assists for seven points in three games. In goal, Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Oscar Dansk of the Erie Otters went 2-0-0-0 with a goals-against-average of 2.00 and save percentage of .957 making 90 saves in his two starts.
