Over the next three weekends, the Bulls will play six of their next seven away from home including stops in Frisco Texas against the Texas Tornado and then two in Odessa against the Jackaklopes over Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend. The lone home game is next Saturday, Nov. 17 when the Jackalopes are at the Budwesier Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.
The Bulls have not been back in Topeka since clinching last year's South Division Championship in four games. Amarillo and Topeka played two exciting games last weekend in the Texas Panhandle with the Bulls taking three points. After falling 3-2 in a shootout, Dennis Williams charges rallied with four in the third to beat the Runners 4-3.
In the two year plus history between the two teams in the state of Kansas, the Bulls and the RoadRunners have split all but one weekend series and that was last year when Amarillo earned two straight wins at Landon Arena.
The Bulls trail the Texas Tornado by four points for first place in the South Division after Texas beat Corpus Christi on Thursday night. The RoadRunners sit alone in third place one behind the Tornado and three ahead of the Bulls.
Tonight's match-up also features two of the best defensive teams in the North American Hockey League. The Bulls are 1st in shots on goal against and second in goals against, while Topeka leads in goals against but is third in shots against.
Fans can tune into tonight's game live on ESPN1440 and www.amarillobulls.combeginning with The Warm Up Show and Denis J. Puska at 6:45 pm. The puck drop follows at 7 pm. The game is also available on Pay Per View courtesy of Fast Hockey and a high-speed internet connection is required in order to view the game.
Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center next Saturday, Nov. 17 when the Bulls entertain the Odessa Jackalopes at 7 pm.
