Shock Assigned Falakiseni and NelsonNovember 8, 2012 - Arena Football League (AFL) - Spokane Shock Press Release
Falakiseni, a product of Norfolk State, joins the Shock roster after spending the 2012 season with the IFL's Tri-City Fever. Falakiseni adds depth to the offensive line, having started at center for the Fever last season. A native of Tonga, Falakiseni spent his first two collegiate seasons at the College of the Siskyous before transferring to Norfolk State for his final two years.
"Falakiseni is a very powerful center that plays nasty and never takes a play off, always competing snap to whistle," said Shock General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden.
Nelson, a quarterback out of Texas Southern University, joins the Shock roster after spending time with the PIFL's Alabama Hammers. As quarterback for the Hammers, Nelson was a dual threat player as he recorded 258 yards with 14 touchdowns on the ground and complimented his performance with 2,319 passing yards and 51 touchdowns. Nelson spent his final two collegiate seasons at Texas Southern University after spending one season at Fort Scott Community College and Iowa.
"Nelson breaks the mold at the quarterback position here in Spokane with his ability to run the football. He is a big arm, pocket passing quarterback that is extremely difficult to bring to the ground due to his size and we're really looking forward to see what he brings to the table at camp," said Shock Head Coach Andy Olson.
