St. John's IceCaps News Release

The St. John's IceCaps are proud to announce that the players and staff have started growing moustaches in support of Movember.

The initiative is an effort designed to raise funds to support men's health issues, specifically prostate cancer and male mental health initiatives.

As of Nov. 1, more than 20 IceCaps players and staff have agreed to grow moustaches as part of the Movember fundraiser, including team captain Jason Jaffray and Corner Brook native Jason King.

Fans are encouraged to make donations to the IceCaps Movember team by visiting their Mo Space page at http://mobro.co/icecaps201213. Fans can also check out photo updates of their favourite players and their moustaches on the team's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/stjohnsicecaps).

Men are encouraged to sign up and sport their own moustache and join the IceCaps in their efforts to raise awareness for cancers affecting men.

In 2011, the Canadian Movember campaign raised more than $42 million, nearly double the amount raised in 2010. Worldwide, Movember raised $125.7 million CAD, an increase of $48.9 million over the previous year.
