Rematch: IceHogs and Checkers Today

October 21, 2012 - American Hockey League (AHL) Rockford IceHogs

Rockford, Ill. - Through the first four games of the season the Rockford IceHogs, have seen great play out of their goaltender and penalty kill unit. The team however has not been able to find a way to score goals consistently, and they'll look to change that trend today with a rematch against the Charlotte Checkers. The puck drops at the BMO Harris Bank Center at 5:05 p.m.

For tickets to tonight's game, call (815) 968-5222, purchase online through IceHogs.com, at any Ticketmaster outlet or by visiting the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office.

The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive an IceHogs picture frame magnet schedule compliments of T6 Broadband.

The Hogs are averaging just 1.25 goals per game through the first four tilts, and were only able to put one up last night against Charlotte, losing 2-1 at the BMO in their home opener.

Fans that aren't able to make it out to the game can watch live on WIFR's 23.2 "Weather Now", Comcast channel 436 or on IceHogs.com with AHL Live. The game broadcast will also be available for fans to listen via the IceHogs homepage.

The IceHogs are looking to earn their first win of the season today, and are one of five teams in the American Hockey League without a win. Grand Rapids, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Connecticut and Worcester all still have not recorded a victory in 2012-13.

Next Game: Thursday, Oct. 25 vs. San Antonio. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs meet up with the San Antonio Rampage for the first time in 2012-13. It's WIFR sellout night as the TV station has bought all the remaining tickets for the game and are giving them away to fans for free via wifr.com.
