SpiritBank Event Center Receives NBA Floor

(Tulsa, OK) - SpiritBank Event Center, in partnership with Connors Sports Flooring has announced the acquisition of a state-of-the-art NBA "Zipper" style basketball floor. The floor, designed and built by Connors Sports Flooring will accommodate the return of the Tulsa 66ers to SpiritBank Event Center.
The 66ers, NBA Developmental League affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder, tip off their season at SBEC on Friday, November 23. Season tickets start at $10 a game and are on sale now at www.Tulsa66ers.com, or 918-585-8444.
"There are several plans in the works to initially break in the new NBA basketball floor." said Global Spectrum's Patrick L. McGrew, General Manager of SpiritBank Event Center. "One particular event demonstrates the community and charitable outreach that are fundamental to both SpiritBank Event Center and Global Spectrum. A second event brings the Oklahoma City Thunder to the building for the first time."
The Oklahoma City Thunder will give Bixby fans the first preview of their 2012-13 team during the team's annual Blue and White Scrimmage on Thursday, Oct 18 at 6 p.m.
The new "Zipper" style floor configuration is an advanced playing surface and can be used for a variety of indoor sports. In anticipation of these various events, foresight was implemented in the design to accommodate a myriad of events. The floor will provide opportunities to host professional, collegiate and high school level basketball, volleyball, cheerleading events and more. "Our new floor is the best available on the market today and demonstrates SpiritBank Event Center's commitment to welcoming back the 66ers to Tulsa supported with state of the art equipment." said McGrew.
The Regal Plaza, located in South Tulsa, was created in 2008. Regal Plaza, which is comprised of 119,000 square feet of shopping, restaurants and hotels is also home to the SpiritBank Event Center. For more information visit www.spiritbankeventcenter.com.
