A Celebration of Craft Beer and Roots Rock Music at Silver Cross Field

September 11, 2012 - Frontier League (FL) Joliet Slammers

(Joliet, IL) - The Joliet Slammers are proud to announce "Hopstring Fest", an all-day craft beer and roots rock music festival, is taking place Saturday, September 29 from 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. at Silver Cross Field.

The event is being brought to fans by the Slammers, Chicago Street Pub and NextMedia .

"Ever since I can remember, my family has always been enthusiastic about sharing music with each other," Chicago Street Pub owner Mike Trizna said. "Old music, new music...didn't matter. Just the idea that you could make someone a little happier by introducing them to music that is new to them. For years we have been doing that at Chicago Street Pub on a small scale. I have always wanted to do something just a little bigger, and the time and place is finally here."

"We are happy to partner with Chicago Street Pub and NextMedia to bring a fun community event to Silver Cross Field," Slammers President Bill Waliewski said. "We hope this is something we will build on the future and make bigger and bigger each year."

The main stage for the all-day concert will be located on the adjacent to the Miller Lite Party Deck on the concourse in left field. A complete list of the scheduled performances can be found here .

Meanwhile vendors will be located between home plate and center field on the concourse. A number of local restaurants will be on-hand including Chicago Street Pub, Bothwell Farms, Gji's Sweet Shoppe, Jody's Hot Dogs and McBrody's. Fans will enjoy craft beers from Goose Island, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Two Brothers Brewing Company and Summit Brewing.

Tickets for the all-day festival are only $20 and can be purchased in advance online or at the Slammers' Box Office. Fans can call the Box Office during regular business hours at 815-722-2287. If tickets are purchased the day of the festival the price is $25 a ticket.

Though there is seating provided, attendees are welcome to bring bag chairs to make their stay more comfortable. First-come, first-served seating as well as covered seating will be available on the outfield concourse. Re-entry will be allowed with ticket.
