
Three Former Huskies to Play in Arizona Fall League

(Duluth, MN) - The Duluth Huskies are proud to announce that three former players have been invited to take part in the prestigious Arizona Fall League. The Arizona Fall league is an off-season league which is owned and operated by Major League Baseball that attracts many of the top prospects in minor league baseball. The Arizona Fall League has been used by many Major League stars including David Wright, Albert Pujols and Ryan Braun. This season, Lars Davis, Cody Asche and Tyler Clark have been invited to play in the league.
Davis, a member of the 2006 and 2007 Duluth Huskies, played the 2012 season for the Class AA Tulsa Drillers, an affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Davis hit .287 while playing 90 games as catcher for the Drillers. This fall, Davis will be suiting up for the Salt River Rafters.
Asche, who played for the Huskies in 2009 and 2010 and holds team career record homeruns with 10, started the 2012 season with the Class A Advanced Clearwater Threshers and finished with the Class AA Reading Phillies, both affiliates of the Philadelphia Phillies. Between the two stops, Asche hit .324 with 12 home runs and 72 RBI over 130 games. In the Arizona Fall League Asche will be playing for the Peoria Javelinas.
Clark played for Duluth in the summer of 2009 from the University of Missouri. This summer Clark pitched for the Class A Advanced Lakeland Tigers and the Class AA Erie SeaWolves putting up a 1.62 ERA with 66 strikeouts and 9 saves over 50 innings. This fall Clark will be playing for the Mesa Solar Sox.
The 2012 Arizona Fall League schedule will kick off on October 9th .
