
Generals Top BayBears with Pair of Ninth Innings Runs

Mobile, AL, - The Mobile BayBears fell to the Jackson Generals 7-5 Tuesday night at Hank Aaron Stadium. The BayBears trailed 5-4 entering the bottom of the eighth inning when Alfredo Marte tied the game with a RBI single. With the score still tied at 5-5, Chih-Hsien Chiang hit a two-run double off BayBears LHP Eury De La Rosa to give Jackson a 7-5 lead in the ninth inning.
Mobile took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Evan Frey led off the game with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly from Matt Davidson. The Generals tied the game at 1-1 in the fifth inning and took a 4-1 lead in the sixth inning. Chiang plated Rich Poythress with a RBI double and Johermyn Chavez followed with a RBI single. Rossmel Perez hit a RBI single in the sixth inning, scoring Matt Mangini and Evan Frey scored Daivd Nick with a RBI ground out in the sixth inning to put the BayBears within one run.
BayBears RHP Mike Bolsinger did not factor in the decision, allowing four runs on nine hits in six inning of work. De La Rosa was suffered with the loss, allowing the two winning runs to score in the top of the ninth inning. Generals LHP James Gillheeney allowed three runs on eight hits in 5.1 innings before settling for a no decision, while Forrest Snow earned the win in relief.
