BayBears Fall to Suns in Friday Matinee

The Mobile BayBears fell to the Jacksonville Suns 11-5 Friday afternoon at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. With Mobile leading 5-3 after three innings, Jacksonville took a 6-5 lead by scoring three runs in the bottom half of the frame. The Suns scored eight unanswered runs to record their seventh win in eight games.

Jacksonville took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning with a two-run homer from Danny Pertusati. The Suns outfielder paced the Suns offensively, finishing with two homers, a triple, five RBI and four runs scored. The BayBears leveled the score in the top of the second inning with a RBI double from Wladimir Sutil and a two-out, two-run single from BayBears RHP Brett Lorin. Brent Clevlen gave Mobile a 4-3 lead in the top of the third inning with a RBI double and Rossmel Perez plated Clevlen with a RBI single.

Lorin was credited with the loss, allowing six runs on eight hits in just four innings on the mound. Suns RHP Bryan Evans earned the win, despite allowing five runs on five hits over just five innings.
