LANCASTER, CA - George Springer had a game to remember on Sunday, finishing 4-for-4 with three doubles as the JetHawks won their third in a row, beating the Stockton Ports, 10-8, at The Hangar.

Springer added two RBIs, two stolen bases and two runs scored. The four-hit performance was his fifth of the season and he extended his hitting streak to a JetHawks season-best 16 games. His offensive outburst helped the JetHawks to another comeback victory.

For the fifth game in a row, Lancaster's opponent scored runs in the first inning. The Ports put up three runs on starter Jorge De Leon in the top of the first. Dusty Robinson reached on a dropped pop up and scored on Josh Whitaker's double. Beau Taylor and B.A. Vollmuth followed with RBI-singles later in the inning.

The JetHawks picked up two runs in the bottom of the first on run-scoring singles off the bats of Jonathan Meyer and Enrique Hernandez. Whitaker got the runs right back in the top of the second with a two-run double to put Stockton up 5-2.

In the fourth, Grant Hogue led off with a single and was driven home on Springer's second double. His first double was a high fly ball that Robinson lost in the sun in right field. His second was a line drive cruised over Robinson's head after the outfielder initially charged in an attempt to make the catch.

The JetHawks put up four more runs against Stockton starter Jake Brown in the fifth. Meyer and Hernandez started the inning with back-to-back doubles to score a run. Hernandez would later score on an error at third by Vollmuth. Hogue picked up a run on a sacrifice fly and Springer drove a ball into the left field gap for his third double and second RBI.

De Leon was unable to hold the 8-5 lead in the sixth. With two on and nobody out, Mitch LeVier hit a three-run homer to tie the game. De Leon ended up picking up the win but allowed eight runs - six earned - on 11 hits in six innings.

The JetHawks scored the winning run against reliever T.J. Walz (5-6) in the bottom of the sixth. Domingo Santana, who had singled earlier in the game to extend his hitting streak to 15 games, walked to start the inning and eventually scored on a Rene Garcia ground out.

In Springer's final at-bat and his last chance for a fifth hit, he fell behind 0-2 before drawing a walk against reliever A.J. Huttenlocker. After Erik Castro walked, Springer and Castro attempted a double steal. Max Stassi threw the ball into left field for his second error of the game and Springer scored. The Ports committed a total of four errors in the game.

Carlos Quevedo relieved De Leon in the seventh inning and tossed three no-hit innings to pick up his first save in his Cal League debut. The right-hander, called up from Low A Lexington on Saturday, struck out five and walked just one batter.

The JetHawks (8-10, 45-43) look for the sweep against the Ports (7-11, 35-53) on Monday night at 7:00 pm at The Hangar. David Martinez will start against Blake Hassebrock. Monday is $1 Dog Monday presented by Hebrew National.
