NEW ORLEANS (June 4, 2012) - Late last week, intern Paul Geohegan sat down with New Orleans VooDoo defensive back Demarcus Robinson for this week's VooDoo Question and Answer. Robinson is in his second season in the AFL and first with the VooDoo.
PAUL GEOHEGAN: Did you have a favorite sporting team growing up and why was that your favorite team?
DEMARCUS ROBINSON: My favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. Growing up in Texas, they were the only team I was allowed to root for.
PG: What is your earliest sports memory?
DR: When I was six, I played Pop Warner football.
PG: What was your greatest sports moment?
DR: My greatest sports moment was when I had a game-winning pick-six while I was playing for Cleveland last season.
PG: Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
DR: Growing up, my favorite athlete was Deion Sanders.
PG: Who is your favorite athlete today?
DR: LeBron James is my favorite athlete today, and he's going to get that championship ring this year.
PG: What got you started playing football?
DR: When I was younger I watched my brother play all the time. I wanted to be just like him.
PG: For you to improve as a player, you need to do what?
DR: Every week, I always study my opponents on film.
PG: What are three characteristics a good teammate should have?
DR: I think teammates should lead by example, be coachable and make good plays.
PG: Growing up, your favorite Ninja Turtle and why?
DR: Donatello was my favorite. I liked the bô staff.
PG: What was your favorite cartoon growing up and why?
DR: Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers. I always have the theme song stuck in my head.
PG: Which actor would you like to see play you in a movie?
DR: Eddie Murphy. He's funny like me.
PG: What is your favorite type of movie?
DR: I love comedy movies. I like to laugh.
PG: What is your favorite food?
DR: Pizza is my favorite food. I love pizza.
PG: Nobody knows how much you like to...?
DR: Do my own hair.
PG: Legos or Lincoln Logs?
DR: I like legos better. It was always easier when I was a kid.
PG: Nintendo, Super Nintendo, or Sega Genesis?
DR: Definitely Nintendo. I like to keep it old school.
PG: Do you have any pets?
DR: I have a little Chihuahua. His name is Pee Wee.
PG: What do you like most about Mardi Gras?
DR: I love looking around and seeing all the people having fun.
PG: What was your favorite subject in school and why?
DR: My favorite subject was Math. I loved counting money as a kid.
PG: Do you have a favorite quote or saying?
DR: "Getting in shape is to stay in shape."
